Driver critically injured in one-car crash in west Detroit

DETROIT (WJBK) - Police are investigating a one-vehicle accident on Detroit's west side that happened early Monday morning.

A driver of a Jeep Liberty ran off the road as it was traveling westbound on Fenkell Avenue at Coyle Street, which is near Greenfield Road. Police say it appears at this time the driver may have fallen asleep, but the crash is still under investigation.

The driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
