UCF Knights Football headed to Dublin

ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Their bags are packed and the UCF Knights football team is headed overseas Tuesday.

Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland is where the knights will make headlines kicking off their 36th season Saturday.

“I think it's great for the University; not just the football program. The national attention you get, you just can't buy that, you can't,” said Head Coach George O'Leary.

A reporter for the “Irish Times” tells FOX 35 as UCF battles Penn State they expect an estimated 20-thousand Americans to flood Dublin which translates into a potential economic impact of 30 million Euros.

In spite of the nine returning starters, Coach O'Leary knows the pressure and eyes will be on his new starting quarterback Pete Dinovo and whether he can deliver on the field as his predecessor Black Bortles did last season.
