Posted: Updated:

The DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections is holding a special election to replace a member who resigned on Monday.

Former Commissioner Elaine Boyer was granted $25,000 bond after appearing in court Tuesday for criminal charges accusing her of mail fraud conspiracy and wire fraud. Boyer's attorney said she will enter a guilty plea.

The special election to fill Boyer's seat will be held on November 4, along with the general election.

Qualifying for the special election will start Monday, September 8 at 8:30 a.m. through September 10 at noon. It will be held at the DeKalb County Board of Registrations and Elections office, located on Memorial Drive in Decatur.

October 6 is the last day to register to be eligible to vote in the special election.
