Police warn of tire and wheel robberies on South, SW sides

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Police are warning residents who live in certain South and Southwest neighborhoods of recent tire and wheel burglaries.

In the seven reported incidents in August, police say at least one person has removed tires and wheels from vehicles parked on the street. The vehicles are left on the blocks, police said.

The incidents have been reported in Bridgeport, Armour Square, McKinley Park, Brighton Park, Gage Park and Back of the Yards.

The burglaries occurred in the following blocks:

-2700 block of West 37th Place on Aug. 22 during early morning hours;

-1800 block of West 34th Place on Aug. 25 during overnight hours;

-3100 block of South Princeton on Aug. 25 during overnight hours;

-5000 block of South Canal on Aug. 28 during daytime hours;

-2900 block of South Canal on Aug. 28 during overnight hours;

-2800 block of South Wells on Aug. 28 during overnight hours;

-2300 block of West 49th Street on Aug. 30 during daytime hours.
