News

 

Assistant News Director – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Oversee the day-to-day news gathering operation for department of 90+ producing 44 hours of broadcast news per week. Oversee web content and initiatives as well as the integration with television and other media platforms. Will be involved in all phases of newsroom management including hiring, budgeting and formatting. Good people skills and strong leadership abilities are essential. Seasoned broadcast journalist with prior news management experience preferred. Must be well versed in organizational and personnel matters. Detail oriented. Outstanding story telling skills. Knowledge of newsroom computer systems and the Internet.

 

Executive Producer – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Management of the editorial content and staff for assigned newscasts. Must be a leader with creative writing and producing skills, solid news judgment and ability to supervise and work with reporters, editors, producers and production crew to produce winning newscasts with clean on-air look. Must have at least three year’s experience working in a commercial TV newsroom as a major market producer or smaller market news manager. Must be able to work flexible hours and handle pressure and deadlines. Excellent people and communication skills needed; must be decisive, authoritative and be a team leader, builder and player.

 

Traffic Reporter / Weather Anchor – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Provide traffic reports for morning newscast and other newscasts as assigned. Fill in as weather anchor as assigned. A minimum of two years experience as a television weather anchor and/or news reporter. Good news judgment and knowledge of fair and accurate journalism practices. Ability to ad-lib effectively with news anchors. Working knowledge of WSI weather system preferred. Strong, creative writing skills. Excellent people and communication skills. Must be a team player. AMS Seal preferred. Hurricane forecasting experience a plus.

 

Creative Services

 

Promotions Producer – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Write and produce original promos, including daily topicals, station and news image spots, and network, sports and syndicated branding spots for FOX Triopoly in Central Florida. Must have a proven track record of producing conversational yet compelling promotional spots that break through the clutter and give viewers a reason to tune-in. Requires top-notch writing skills and a desire to win every day. Good understanding of how to sell news stories and station programming to target demographics. Must have the ability to execute distinct marketing and branding strategies for each station. Must be very familiar with social media sites and ways to increase traffic. Flexibility and ability to meet tight deadlines is key. Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including weekends and holidays is required. A minimum of two years television promotion experience, a degree in communications or related field, a good understanding of graphics and visual effects along with proficiency with Microsoft Office, basic non-linear editing skills and AVSTAR news computer knowledge is preferred. AVID Adrenaline and After Effects experience is a plus.

 

Sales/Traffic

 

Account Executive – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Develop understanding of FOX35 and MY65’s product. Market the stations to the advertising community. Produce and present effective sales strategies to existing and developed accounts that solve client problems and increase station revenues. Develop relationships with developmental retail clients, existing TV advertisers and their agencies. College degree and a minimum of two years work experience preferred. Candidate should possess top communication skills and be service oriented. Experience with new business development preferred. Knowledge of Scarborough, NSI, Enterprise, TV Scan and general computer skills a plus. Must have valid driver’s license.
